Our thanks go out to Silva for his many years of hard work. We hope he knows how much we appreciate him.

Employee Spotlight focuses on the people who make a difference at our Pamby Motors dealership, collision center, auto repair location and gas station. Check back over the next few weeks to see if your favorite employee is featured, or follow this link to email us and recommend someone who has impressed you.
Family, tradition and values are what define Pamby, and we like to think of our employees as part of our extended family. To show our appreciation for the people who work by our side daily, we run a blog series called "Employee Spotlight."

Today, we shine the spotlight on our Pamby Motors Service Center driver Ailton Dasilva, known around here as Silva. If you've been in our service center for a repair or maintenance visit, you've probably met him. His main job is to drive our customers home and/or pick them up when their cars are being worked on. He does this with a friendly smile and a positive attitude every time.

Silva has been with us for 16 years. He came to us through another employee, Wellington, who introduced Silva to Mike Pambianchi all those years ago and who also continues to work with us at the Pamby gas station. We are truly fortunate Silva has been a loyal and hard-working employee for us for such a long time.

The funny thing about us calling him Silva is that Dasilva is not actually his name. He laughs about it now when you ask him about it. The story is that when he was born in Brazil, his father went to get his birth certificate printed. The registrar had been busy talking to someone else at the time, and as Silva's father traveled home, he realized the wrong last name had been documented. At that point it didn't seem worth it to go back and fix it. The rest of his brothers and his father bear the surname he should have had: Pedro.

When Silva is not at work, he likes to hang out with his friends. Most of his family is back in Brazil and he makes a month-long trip to see them every year during the winter season. In the warmer months, he takes his 2015 Honda XR650 motorcycle out. He drives it to work regularly and uses it as his primary vehicle when possible. One of his favorite drives is heading up I-84 towards New Milford. Not surprising for a guy who works in the car business, one of Silva's hobbies is cars. He likes going to car shows and looking at muscle cars - like the Charger and Challenger we sell at Pamby. He would love to get a muscle car for himself one day.
