We already knew that Jeep people are adventurous and fun, but we didn't know that Jeep people are so giving, until now. If you didn't catch the Jeep news coverage this week, you missed a great story. Members of the Chisholm Trail Jeep Club gathered together to rescue stranded motorists on a frozen uphill section of the I-20 in Grand Prairie, Texas. See video on the Jeep club's Facebook page.Â
Several members of the group parked along the treacherous portion of highway for hours waiting to help. They had plenty of opportunities to use the power and 4-wheel capacity Jeeps are famous for. Among the saved were at least five tractor trailers. The most impressive part of the story is that, apparently, all this was done for free. "We wanted to get together and do some good for people - especially when we have Jeeps that are really good to do it," said Jeep owner Nora Cortez.
There are numerous Jeep groups across the country. They get together for off-roading, barbeques, contests and festivals. Hats off to the Chisolm Trail Jeep Club for making the Jeep brand look good.
