Getting Your Home Charger
While many of our Jeep plug-in models let you charge at home with a standard 120-volt outlet, you can enjoy faster charging rates with one of our level 2 home chargers. You will need to have a professional electrician install the charger, but afterward, you will find it's easier to recharge your plug-in hybrid's battery and get back out on the road.
Many drivers choose to install home chargers to cut down on charging times and ensure they can continue driving with a full battery even as their schedules change. The Wrangler 4xe has a charging time of 12 hours when using a household outlet, while a level 2 home charger lets you charge the battery in as little as 2.4 hours. Similarly, the new Grand Cherokee 4xe also requires up to 12 hours with a standard outlet and only about 2 hours with a level 2 charger.
